No matter what the outcome of this "dev tax" Amaury Sechét's has lost all credibility in my eyes.
I'm no one, just a Bitcoin user since 2013. I left BTC when they refused to raise the block size and allowed RBF. Amaury is either actively trying to harm Bitcoin, or he is just a scummy POS that wants… Read full article

The main problem of the funding issue is the lack it success of bch
If bch was majorly successful funding problem would resolve by itself. There would be strong companies dedicating work to bch, giving ABC devs generous consulting contracts, people would donate, devs would get a lot of money for conference talks.

Uncomfortable truth: Miners don’t need a protocol change to donate money to developers. They can just donate.
Additionally, as Roger Ver pointed out in [his video](https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/f4p3tq/bitcoincoms_stance_on_the_recent_block_reward/), the businesses who use & depend on & make their living off of & thrive off of the BCH network should really be the ones funding development. Please vote on a ticker symbol for the shiny new 5% tax coin (informal poll)
Exchanges with any sort of ethical compass won't list Amaury-Coin ^TM but inevitably some will (probably the same corrupt, three-letter agency controlled exchanges that list BSV).

Point being, it will need a ticker symbol.

Here are some choices I've seen… Read full article

Bitcoin ABC is simply asking for payment in return for the tech being provided in this next upgrade. If you don't like it, then don't run ABC code. It's really simple. This is open source software, and the miners can run whatever they want.
You can hate what's going on all you want, but miners control the protocol.

1) If you don't like the protocol, create a new protocol. You can also fork any project you'd like.

2) If you simply don't like the… Read full article

My top 5 (and more) arguments against the mining tax as implemented in ABC 0.21.0

BU collected millions of dollars for development and keeps ~95% as BTC but now says little development is needed. Will they share their funding with ABC which is actually doing development or will they complain without putting their money where their mouth is?

Bitcoin Cash, as it exists today, without a single byte of further development can handle 32 MB blocks. By the time even 10 MB blocks are being filled BCH would be worth so much funding developers would not even be an issue.

How to oppose infrastructure-fund/dev-tax as a non-miner?
Just thought I would start a thread where people can make suggestions about how non-miners can take practical steps to oppose the recent announcement by ABC that they are adding the infrastructure-fund/dev-tax into their code base ([https://www.bitcoinabc.org/2020-02-15-miner-fund/](https://www.bitcoinabc.org/2020-02-15-miner-fund/)).

How about instead of creating 10 shitty full node implementations, everyone team up and build one or two really good full node implementations... I know everyone wants to sit on the BCH Iron Throne, but for fuck's sake, if we keep forking every 6 months there isn't going to be a BCH Kingdom left.
We have the resources, we have the developers. The problem is they all want the Iron Throne to themselves. I'm looking at you:
